PRIVACY, DATA AND DISCLAIMERS
What we hold, and how to make us delete it.
Short version: we keep your email so we can send your results, we keep your answers so the report can be rebuilt if you lose it, and one email from you removes all of it. We have never sold data and have no plans to start.
What we collect
When you take the Discovery test or the Full Blueprint, your answers are scored in your own browser. Nothing leaves your machine until you give us an email address. When you do, we receive the answers, the scores they produced, your archetype, and whatever you typed about your business.
If you fill in the intake form or apply for a founding slot, we also receive what you tell us there: your name, your industry and stage, roughly what the business earns if you chose to say, and how you found us. The revenue question has a "prefer not to say" option and choosing it costs you nothing.
Your test answers stay in your browser's local storage as well, under the key xemya.blueprint.v1, so you can close the tab and pick the test back up. Clearing your browser data removes that copy.
Why we keep it
Three reasons, and no others. To deliver your report. To rebuild your report if you come back a year later having lost the file. And to see, in aggregate, which questions are doing useful work in the instrument and which ones are not.
Aggregate means counts and distributions across everyone who has taken it. That analysis never names anyone and never leaves the company.
How we measure the site
We built our own first-party measurement rather than relying on somebody else's. There is no advertising cookie on this site, and there never has been. What we record is which page was open, which question was on screen, how long it was visible, and whether the test was finished or left — tied to a random identifier that lives in your browser tab and disappears when you close it. It is not a cookie, it does not follow you to another site, and it holds nothing you typed.
If you complete the test and give us your email, those page records are joined to your submission — and only then, and only for you. Until that moment they belong to nobody.
We also use Microsoft Clarity, a session-recording and heatmap tool, to see where the site is confusing rather than just where it is slow. Clarity runs under our account and processes data on our behalf, the same way our email provider or our database does — it is not handed your information to use for its own purposes, and it does not place an advertising cookie either. Every page that could show you typing something — the assessment and the intake form — is masked before Clarity ever loads: it can see that the page was open and for how long, and it cannot see the questions, your answers, your email, or anything you typed anywhere on this site. That masking is not a setting we could leave off by accident; it is applied to those elements before the recording starts.
The research checkbox
Beneath the consent box there is a second one, unticked, asking whether your anonymised answers can be included in aggregate research on how founders build. It is genuinely optional: leaving it unticked changes nothing about your report or the service you get. If you tick it, what goes into the research set is your archetype, your answers, how long each question took, and — if you choose to answer five optional questions after your results — banded business context such as stage, team size and revenue band. Your name, your email, your business idea and any individual score never cross into it. You can withdraw at any time by replying to any email from us, and withdrawal takes effect the same day.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data, rent it, or hand it to a data broker.
- We do not run advertising trackers on this site, and nothing here places an advertising cookie. Our own measurement is first-party and cookieless; the one processor we use for session recordings (Microsoft Clarity) works under our account, on our instructions, and never sees what you typed on any page.
- We do not share your individual results with anyone, including an employer who paid for a Team Blueprint.
- We do not use your answers to train a public model.
Team and org engagements
When a company buys a Team Blueprint or an Org Design Session, the company sees a composite: how the group is distributed, where roles and wiring are pulling against each other, and what to do about it. Individuals see their own full snapshot. A manager does not get handed one person's Professional Profile, and we will decline the request if it is made.
This is a development and role-design tool. Using it to screen candidates or justify a termination is outside what the instrument can support, and we say so in writing before any team engagement starts.
Deleting your data
Email us and ask. We delete your record and confirm it, and there is no retention flow designed to talk you out of it. If you would rather remove the local copy yourself, clearing site data for this domain in your browser handles it immediately.
What the Founder Blueprint is
It is an original instrument. The items were written for Xemya and measure constructs drawn from open personality science: aspect-level Big Five traits, motivational drives, and character strengths. It exists to design a business around a specific person.
It is not a validated psychometric, a clinical instrument, or a hiring screen. It has not been normed against a reference population, so it reports where your own signals sit relative to each other rather than where you sit relative to other founders. Any product that tells you that you are in the top ten percent of anything, without published norms behind it, is guessing.
It describes tendencies. Tendencies change with circumstance, effort and time, and a description you disagree with is more likely to be a bad question than a hidden truth. Treat the report as a well-informed second opinion about how to build, not a verdict on who you are.
Xemya is not affiliated with, licensed by, or derived from any proprietary, trademarked or otherwise legally protected assessment, and uses none in its work. Every item in the instrument was written for Xemya.
Xemya is not a medical or psychological organization. We do not diagnose, treat, or provide medical, psychological or mental-health advice, and nothing the instrument produces is a substitute for a qualified professional. If you want that kind of support, please speak to a licensed practitioner.
